Below is the background on the lore of the Enchanted Gala and what information will be helpful in roleplaying throughout the night. Use it as a way to inspire your character and how you would like to strategize your evening. Upon arrival of the Gala, please stop by the front table to review the guidelines.
Our World
In a realm divided by ancient rivalries, one kingdom flourished: Eldoria, known for its shimmering lakes and verdant valleys, and renowned for its towering mountains and fierce warriors.
For years, the borders surrounding Eldoria had been a source of contention, with skirmishes breaking the peace. But King Helmund and Queen Aelyn of Eldoria had a vision—a united kingdom that could thrive in harmony.
One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue across the landscape, King Helmund and Queen Aelyn convened in the grand hall of Eldoria's castle. The walls, adorned with banners of surrounding kingdoms, echoed with their determination. “We must create a celebration that no one can resist,” suggested Aelyn, her emerald eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “A masquerade ball, where our people can mingle, free from the burdens of their past.” Helmund nodded, a smile spreading across his face. “Yes! A night of mystery and elegance. Let them don masks to hide their identities, so they can see each other without the weight of their heritage.”
Among the guests will be nobles and commoners alike, mingling with an excitement that had been absent for generations.
And so, with the spirits of their people united, the foundations of a new kingdom were laid—one where laughter echoed through the valleys, and the mountains stood witness to the bond of a united realm.
Kingdom of Eldoria
Eldoria is a breathtaking realm where the laws of nature bend to the will of magic & the impossible becomes reality. Its landscape is a patchwork of vibrant forests that glow with ethereal light, towering mountains that float above the ground, & crystal-clear lakes that ripple with the songs of ancient spirits. In Eldoria, time flows unpredictably, allowing creatures from every era to coexist. Where powerful sorcerers, mythical beasts, & enchanted objects are part of everyday life. The skies above shimmer with countless constellations, each one holding the key to a forgotten secret or a hidden power; waiting to be discovered by those daring enough to explore.
House Damballah
One of the earliest houses in the realm, House Damballah is home to the Dragon Rider Knights who serve The Kingdom of Eldoria. Damballah is comprised of 5 tribes in the mountainous plains to the northeast where our people coexist with over ten different species of dragons. Dragon hatchlings are paired with young knight prospects where they form a unique bond for life. These duo’s answer any & all call for aide from the king and live to serve our fellow Eldorians.
House Tiressea
Tiressea is a house nestled within an ancient forest of towering trees & winding rivers. Our house thrives on a deep, spiritual connection to nature which allows us to communicate with the plants & animals that surround us as well as harnessing the power of plant-based medicines, animal instincts, & the rhythms of the land to guide our decisions. With our wisdom & reverence for life, we are seen as stewards of the earth; protectors of the delicate web that connects every form of existence.
House Mursalo
Mursalo, a kingdom extending across the coast & archipelagos south of the continent. Recognized for our spartan artisans, inimitable infantry, & most of all, bustling seafood market. If you have had a fish, prawn, crustacean, roe, eel, or salt water invertebrate, then there is essentially a 100% chance that it has come from Mursalo’s waters.
House Asteros
The house of Asteros navigate by the stars and we are known for never getting lost. Our navigators are prized in any fleet, the other houses often come to them for aid before any journeys.
House Fenrisdun
Forged in the wild, the Fenrir bloodline echoes the strength of our ancestors. Once a humble tribe, we rose through fierce loyalty & cunningness, becoming a beacon of resilience. Our legend, a testament to indomitable spirit, lives on in us, a pack bound by blood and legacy.
